These drawing done with graphite pencil, ink, and gouache, may, at first glance, read as sophisticated doodles. Upon further observation, in the mist of several layers of faint and darker, broken, nervous, and gestural lines, a space stands: a space that possesses a shimmering of history, memory, and meaning.

The ghostly feel and softness of the overall drawing positioned strategically on the white sheet of 29 x 40-inch paper, references decayed sites found in remote out ports of Newfoundland.

Weaving together the past, the present and the future, do these sites belong to a history soon to be forgotten or, they are frameworks of future spaces that will become place?
